We talk about growth as a real test of who we are, because new levels expose habits we could hide before. We challenge ourselves to prepare in private, set better boundaries, and take faith-filled action so we don’t break before our breakthrough. • growth exposing discipline, consistency, priorities, and hidden patterns • preparing before opportunity and staying faithful with little using Luke 16:10 • reframing hard seasons as preparation rather than punishment • choosing endurance with “you have to make it through” and learning from Romans 5 • changing what we tolerate by setting boundaries around habits, relationships, and thinking • separating harmful pain from growth discomfort through discernment • renewing our mindset and speaking a faith language over our future • checking our atmosphere, our audience, and our actions because faith must move If you enjoyed what you heard, please share it with somebody
It is to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see the world differently, who don't fit neatly into boxes, and refuse to live by someone else's script. You can quote them, you can disagree with them, you can glorify them or vilify them, you can shake your head at their ideas or be inspired by their courage. But the one thing you cannot do is ignore them. Because they change things. They disrupt what's comfortable, they challenge what's normal, and they push the human race forward. Sometimes with loud revolutions, sometimes with quiet persistence that changes everything over time. They see possibility where others see limits. They dare to dream out loud when the world tells them to be silent. They take risks, they stumble, they rise again, and they keep going. Not because it's easy, but because they can't imagine doing anything else. These are the ones who remind us that every great leap forward was once considered impossible. So here's to them: the ones who won't sit down, won't be quiet, and won't stop until the world is different. Because they're the reason it will be.

Hey guys, it's B-Rob and it is 1111 and it's Sunday, August the 23rd, but it's 1111. I just looked at my phone and thought I'd share that. That's pretty cool right there. But what's going on everybody? Welcome back to the Food for Thought Faith Cast where we feed your faith, challenge your thinking, and give you something to chew on throughout the day. So today we're gonna talk about something that is important to and it should be important to everybody. And if it's not important to you, you probably need to reevaluate what's important to you, and that we want to talk today about growth. So, and I'm gonna start with a conversation, a statement that really challenged me. Somebody, I heard somebody say this, and it was at a growth conference not too long ago in Atlanta, and um the conference was good, and it really like put things in perspective for me. So I want to share some of that stuff with you today.
So the statement that really challenged me was growth will expose your habits. Now I want you to think about that for just a second. Think about that. We all say we want to grow, we want God to elevate us, we want opportunity, we want that promotion, we want that breakthrough, we want that next level, but are our habits ready for what we've been praying for? That's a really good question. Are our habits ready for those things that we've been praying for? Because sometimes we're asking God to change our situation, and God might be trying to change us. I'm gonna say that again. Sometimes we're trying to ask God to change our situation while God might be trying to change us. So, one of the things that Blythe said, and she is a uh a mentor in my financial business, and she said, always work towards the promotion that's in front of you. And the way I take that is in other words, don't wait until somebody gives you a title before you start developing your character. Don't wait before somebody gives you a title before you start developing your discipline and the habits that require that title. Start preparing now.
You see, there's a biblical principle behind that. If you look at Luke 16, 10, it says, Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. Sometimes we want the much, but God is looking at what we're doing with the little. Because preparation doesn't begin with the opportunity, preparation begins before the door is even opened. There is separation in the preparation. I'm gonna say that again. There is separation in the preparation. You see, two people can want the exact same thing and have completely different outcomes. We've talked about that before. What's the difference? Sometimes it's preparation. One may talk about it, the other actually prepares for it. One person waits on an opportunity, the other person already manifested that opportunity and is getting it ready. Let's look at David from the Bible. David didn't learn how to trust God when Goliath showed up. Before Goliath there was a lion, before Goliath there was a bear. And before that public victory with Goliath, there was private preparation. So maybe the season that you're in right now, it's not punishment, maybe it's preparation. Maybe God is developing something in you that you're going to need for where he's taking you. Never despise the preparation just because you can't see the destination. Never despise the preparation just because you cannot see the destination. Because the separation is in the preparation. Next thing, we're going to go back to what I said and what really, really hit home with me.
Growth will expose your habits. That's a very uncomfortable statement. But it's true because growth doesn't just reveal what you're good at. It reveals what you've been hiding. It reveals your discipline. It reveals your consistency, your attitude, your insecurities, your priorities, your prayer life, and your response to pressure. See, you may be able to hide unhealthy habits at one level. But when greater responsibility comes, those habits become harder to hide. I know this firsthand. And that's why growth isn't just about getting more, it's about becoming more mature. I want you to ask yourself one thing. If God gave me tomorrow what I've been praying for today, do I have the habits to sustain it? Because we spend a lot of time praying for the blessing, but maybe we should be praying, God, develop me into somebody who can carry that blessing. Which brings me to the next thing that I wrote down from the growth conference. It's a simple line. It says, You have to make it through. That's a mentality.
Somebody listening right now needs that like I needed it then. You have to make it through. You might be tired, you might be frustrated, you might feel like you've been doing the right thing and nothing is changing. But please do not quit in the middle of your preparation. Remember the preparation. The separation is in the preparation. Do not break before your breakthrough. You see, faith doesn't mean the pretending the pressure doesn't hurt. Faith doesn't mean pretending the pain doesn't hurt. Faith means believing that the pain you're experiencing doesn't get the final word. It doesn't get to write your story at all. In Romans 5, it tells us that suffering produces perseverance. And perseverance produces character. And character produces hope. And we know hope stands for hold on, pain ends. You see the process happening there? So don't waste your difficult season. Ask God, pray, what are you developing? What are you doing with me through this? Ask Him for understanding. That's another challenging thought that I wrote down from that growth conference. And if you
don't change what you tolerate, your next level will not change. You won't even be able to get to the next level. Because you are what you tolerate. Other things require boundaries. Maybe you've tolerated procrastination, negative thinking, relationships that pull you away from who God is calling you to become. Maybe you've tolerated excuses, or maybe you've just been inconsistent in your walk with God. Eventually you have to ask, what am I allowing in my life that's fighting against what I'm praying for? Things matter. Your environment matters. Your habits matter. Your relationships matter. What you repeatedly allow into your life matters. What you watch matters. And you've got to learn to tolerate the right pain. And quit making it hard for yourself. You've got to learn to tolerate the pain required to become who you are called to be. I'm not saying to eliminate every uncomfortable thing from your life. But some pain that we allow into our life needs boundaries. And then some discomfort are part of growth. That's where discernment comes in. You see, discipline is uncomfortable sometimes. Saying no can be uncomfortable sometimes. Waking up early in the morning can be uncomfortable sometimes. Forgiving someone who has hurt you can be uncomfortable sometimes. Having a difficult conversation can be uncomfortable. Changing your habits can be uncomfortable. Obeying God when you don't understand the outcome can be very uncomfortable sometimes. But there's a difference between pain that's destroying you and you're letting that happen. There's a difference between that and the discomfort, discomfort that is actually trying to develop you. But you cannot run from every uncomfortable thing God might use to be developing your character. Your mentality will shape your reality. Proverbs 23:7 says, in part, as a
man thinketh in his heart, so he is. So what you're constantly feeding your mind matters. If you're always telling yourself, I can't, or I'll never change, or nothing ever works for me, I'm not good enough, everybody else is ahead of me, eventually you'll start living according to what you are rehearsing in your head. So quit speaking those negative things over your life. Because faith gives another language. Faith gives us a new language. A language that says God is still working on him. God can use me. I can grow. I can change my habits. My past does not have to dictate my future. I am not a sum of my past. I can become who God has called me to be. If not now, when? You see? That's faith. Not because you're powerful enough that you can do it by yourself, but because you've surrendered to the one who is trying to transform you. So as we close, let's examine three areas of your life. Three
areas to check on. Your atmosphere. Your audience and your actions. So what's the atmosphere around you? What are you constantly allowing into your mind and your heart and your spirit? Who's your audience? Whose approval are you living for? Who are you trying to make proud? And what are your actions? Because intentions do not create anything by themselves, especially transformation. At some point, actions have to move. Faith has to move. James tells us that faith without works is dead. So what action are you going to take today? Maybe you're going to set a boundary. Maybe you're going to spend time with God before touching your phone. Maybe it's finally starting the thing that God put on your heart to do, whatever that might be. Maybe it's apologizing to somebody who hurt you, forgiving somebody. Maybe it's ending an unhealthy habit or becoming more disciplined with what God has already entrusted to you. Whatever it is, don't just hear this podcast today. Words are just words until you turn them into verbs. So you gotta move. Always remember, healthy things grow. So don't be obsessed with
looking successful. Focus on becoming healthy because healthy things grow. Focus on growth, focus on preparation, focus on becoming a man or the woman that God has called you to be. And in whatever season you're walking through right now, do not break before your breakthrough. Let's keep going, keep growing, keep preparing, keep trusting God because what he is developing in you may be just as important as to where he is going to take you. Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Heavenly Father, we thank you for coming and meeting with us right where we are today. We thank you for loving us. Lord, just help us grow into the people you have called us to be, Lord. Help us to reveal our habits, attitudes, and patterns that cannot go where you are taking us, Lord. Lord, give us the humility to recognize them and the courage and discipline to change. Lord, just teach us to be faithful what you've already placed in our hands. Lord, help us prepare in private for the opportunity when it comes in public, Lord. Lord, when things get uncomfortable, give us strength. Lord, help us. Tell us not to quit. And Lord, give us the wisdom to know the difference between the pain that we need to walk away from and the discomfort that you are trying to use to develop us. Lord, we just thank you for this opportunity, Lord. Lord, we ask that you renew our minds. And Lord, with negative things, fear, insecurity, doubt, try to take over, remind us who you are, and that you keep your promises. And Lord, just help anybody who's feeling tired and close to giving up. Lord, please give them a fresh start, a fresh fire, some fresh strength to get today. Lord, just remind them that the preparation has purpose and you are that purpose. Help them to not break before their breakthrough, Lord. It's in Jesus' holy, heavenly name we pray. Amen and hallelujah. Well, guys, thank you for tuning in to the Food for Thought Faith Cast today. If you enjoyed what you heard, please share it with somebody.
Until next time, keep feeding your faith, keep working on yourself. Because I love you, God loves you more. And if you do not have a relationship with Jesus, you need to get right.
