Choose Your Attitude
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We bring Monday motivation by getting honest about attitude as the posture of our mind and heart, and why it shapes our peace more than our circumstances. We share a faith-based reset for when pressure hits, waiting gets heavy, and negativity starts spilling into every room we enter.
• attitude as a lens that changes how we interpret life
• guarding the heart because everything flows from it
• releasing what we cannot control and choosing our response
• refusing to let someone else’s lack of character shape ours
• holding boundaries without hatred and speaking with wisdom
• using gratitude to shift perspective without pretending life is perfect
• passing the waiting-season test without entitlement or bitterness
• feeding the right inputs and renewing the mind with intention
• staying real about pain while keeping hope and trust
• checking ourselves with humility when we might be the problem
• pausing, telling the truth, praying first, and watching our words to reset

Cold Open: The Ones Who Change Things
SPEAKER_00Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see the world differently, who don't fit neatly into boxes, and refuse to live by someone else's script. You can quote them, you can disagree with them, you can glorify them, or vilify them, you can shake your head at their ideas, or be inspired by their courage. But the one thing you cannot do is ignore them. Because they change things. They disrupt what's comfortable, they challenge what's normal, and they push the human race forward. Sometimes with loud revolutions, sometimes with quiet persistence that changes everything over time. They see possibility where others see limits. They dare to dream out loud when the world tells them to be silent. They take risks, they stumble, they rise again, and they keep going. Not because it's easy, but because they can't imagine doing anything else. These are the ones who remind us that every great leap forward was once considered impossible. So here's to them: the ones who won't sit down, won't be quiet, and won't stop until the world is different. Because they're the reason it will be.

Monday Motivation And Why Attitude Matters
SPEAKER_01We would like to welcome you to the 25th Face with my friends B Rob. So without further ado, here's B Rob.
SPEAKER_03Hey everybody, it's B Rob, it's your boy. Welcome back to the Food for Thought Faithcast. And man, it's a rainy Sunday afternoon. But by the time you hear this, it's gonna be Monday. So we're gonna give you some Monday motivation today. I hope everyone is doing good. I hope everyone is blessed. I hope everyone is just vibrating on a great, great level. Because today we're gonna talk about something that every single one of us has to deal with. We have to deal with it, it's just something we have to do, and that one thing that we have to deal with is attitude. Now, when I say attitude, I'm not just talking about like rolling your eyes, catching an attitude with somebody or waking up on the wrong side of the bed, that type of attitude. I'm talking about the posture of your mind and most of all the posture of your heart. Because really, if you think about it, your attitude affects everything. It affects how you walk into any situation, it affects how you walk into any room, it affects how you respond when somebody respects you, when somebody disrespects you, it affects how you handle disappointment. It affects everything, it affects your relationships, it affects your work, it affects your faith, it affects your peace, and sometimes even opportunities you do not recognize or you do recognize. Same pressure, same disappointment or setback, same rejection, same exact problem. But one person might say, Man, this is gonna destroy me, and that other person says, I don't know how, but I know God's gonna use this situation. You do realize that that's the same scenario, same situation, but that's a different attitude. And that's what I'm talking about right now. That's what I want to talk about today because you may not always be able to control what happens to you, but you can learn to control what happens with inside of you.
Attitude Is The Lens Of Life
SPEAKER_03Your attitude is a lens. Think about a pair of sunglasses. You put on dark lenses, and everything you look at appears darker. The world didn't change, the lens changed. That's what attitude does. Your attitude becomes the lens through which you interpret your life with. If you constantly believe, nobody respects me, nothing ever works for me, everybody is against me, I never get a break. I mean, if you tell yourself that stuff, if you manifest that stuff, if you say that stuff, if you speak that stuff over you, eventually that's what your lens is gonna be. You see? I mean, give you an example. Somebody doesn't text you back, well, they don't respond to me. Your boss gives you feedback, he's against me. Somebody's quiet, your friend's quiet. Oh, they must have a problem with me. You see how I mean you see where that goes? Sometimes the biggest battle isn't what happened, it's the story we tell ourselves about what happened. Proverbs 423 says, Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. That means what's happening inside of you matters more than anything because eventually what's inside comes outside. Eventually, those thoughts become words, eventually those words become actions, eventually those actions become habits, eventually those habits begin shaping the direction of your life. So if you really want to change your life, sometimes you gotta start by checking your attitude. The next thing is you gotta understand you cannot control everything. One of the biggest causes of a bad attitude is trying to control the things we've we never were given control over. Like you can't control what everybody thinks about you, you can't control whether somebody likes you or not, you can't control traffic, you can't control somebody else's mood, you can't control every unexpected bill that pops up, you cannot control every door that closes, you can't control everything that happens today or tomorrow, but you can control your response, and that in itself is a Moab. That in itself is a powerful bomb. I mean, think about something. Imagine if you're running late, you're already frustrated, somebody cuts you off in traffic, immediately you feel that anger rise up. Now think about this: that person drives away, they're gone. Twenty minutes, you get to work, you're still mad. That person probably doesn't even know they cut you off. Meanwhile, you're replaying it in your head, thinking about it, talking about it. Your whole mood is changed. Then you get to work, and somebody innocent says something you don't like. Now they get the attitude that started with somebody five miles back. You see how that energy and those dominoes, it spreads. That negative spreads fast, and that's how unchecked attitudes spread. You see, one moment gets permission to control the next moment, and sometimes maturity comes from being able to say that happened, but I'm not gonna carry it with me. That happened, but I'm gonna move on. That's wisdom, that's not carrying it to the next moment. That person irritated me, but I'm not gonna give that person the rest of my day. You dig? That conversation disappointed me, but I'm not gonna allow that person to poison every other conversation I have the rest of the day. I understand that door closed, but I'm not going to assume that every door the rest of my day will close. So you have to learn to release what you cannot control. And you can do that. It's all about mindset.
Protect Your Character Like Jesus
SPEAKER_03Philippians two verse five, in your relationships with one another, Lila, in your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Jesus, as Christ Jesus. I love that scripture because it doesn't talk about our actions, it talks about our mindset, our attitude, our inner posture. Think about Jesus. Think about how misunderstood he was. He talked in parables, he was criticized, he was rejected, he was betrayed, he was mocked, people questioned him, people walked away from him, yet he did not allow those people's behavior to determine who he was or his character. And that's simply huge, crazy, in a great way, in an amazing way, in a wise way. Because sometimes we try to justify our bad attitude by pointing at somebody else, and you cannot do that, like they started there, or they disrespected me first, or they were rude to me, or well, you just don't understand what they did. But here's the real question you gotta ask yourself: why should somebody else's lack of character get to determine yours? And I'm gonna ask that question again. Why should somebody else's lack of character get to determine yours? I mean, if somebody's hateful towards you and you become hateful back, now their attitude has reproduced itself, right? So if somebody is bitter and they make you bitter, you see how bitterness just grew and multiplied? You see, following Jesus means learning to say, I'm responsible for who I am and the spirit that I carry, regardless of what somebody else carries. Now I'm not trying to say you gotta be a doormat, and that's not what it means. And I'm not saying you gotta have no boundaries, because that's not what it means either. It doesn't mean allowing people to mistreat you. You can have boundaries and still have a good attitude. I mean, you can say no without hatred, you can walk away without wanting revenge on somebody, you can correct somebody without humiliating them, you can disagree without disrespecting. That's called maturity, that's called wisdom.
Gratitude And The Waiting Test
SPEAKER_03You know, and the biggest thing about having a great attitude, you have to have gratitude to change your attitude. You have to have gratitude to change your attitude. That's one of the quickest ways to change your attitude is gratitude. I mean, think about something. You woke up this morning, that's something, right? You have another opportunity, that's something, right? I mean, maybe your life's not where you want it to be, but you're still here. Maybe your bank account's not as full as you want it to be, but you're still here. Maybe your career isn't where you imagined it to be, but you're still here. Maybe your relational situation isn't what you hoped for, but you're still here. Maybe you've been praying about something and you still haven't seen the answer, but you're still here. I mean think about where you were when you were praying five years ago, and look at it now. I bet I bet you're in a lot better position. You know? I mean, a lot of times we don't realize it, but we pray like we pray for opportunity. You know, we pray, God, please give me an opportunity. Then we get the opportunity, six months later goes by, and it's like, man, I I hate having to go to work. You know, wait a minute, six months ago you prayed for a job, and that's that's real life. That's real life. That's that's not that's it's funny. We complain. We complain about the very prop process producing what we asked for. You know? Gratitude doesn't mean pretending everything is perfect, gratitude means saying everything may not be perfect, but God is still God and God is still good. And we need to thank God for every single day, for every single thing. If God held up your prayer, then he did it for a reason, and you need to thank for that. If your food at the restaurant came out overcooked and you couldn't eat it, you probably need to thank God for that too. You probably shouldn't have eaten it. I don't know if that makes sense, but you know. So that brings you to another point. The waiting period. The waiting period, your attitude during the waiting period matters the most. Because you see, everybody likes having a good attitude when things go well, right? You got the job you wanted, you got the promotion. Praise God. Money came in, praise God, God is good. Everybody got good news, thank you, Lord. But what about the terms God says, be still and know that He is God? What about the times when things do not seem to be moving at all? What about the times when you're praying and you're waiting and you're praying and you're waiting? What about the times when somebody else got the opportunity that you wanted? That's an attitude test. Those are the times when you need to be gracious even more. You see? The waiting will test the attitude because the waiting reveals things like entitlement, jealousy, impatience. It can reveal whether we trust in God only, even when we're waiting. Because sometimes we say, God, I trust you, but do we really mean it? Or do we mean, God, I trust you as long as you uh do what uh I think you should do? That's not real trust. Real trust says, God, I don't understand the process, God, I don't understand this season, but I but I I refuse to let the confusion turn into bitterness. There were so many times in the Bible. Look at Joseph. He had a dream from God, but the road to that dream looked nothing like he probably expected. His brothers betrayed him. He was sold into slavery. He was falsely accused. He ended up in prison. And even after helping someone in prison, he was forgotten. Imagine what his attitude should have been like. Like, screw everybody, forget everybody, forget my dream, forget God. Why should I keep doing right when everybody keeps hurting me and doing me wrong? But no, no. Joseph continued being faithful where he was. And eventually the prison wasn't the end of his story. You see, so somebody listening right now might feel like you're in a season that doesn't match what you think God needs to show you. But don't let a temporary season create a permanent attitude. You may be in a character, you may be in a chapter, you may be in a book that does not even make sense right now. But do not confuse one chapter with the whole story. Another thing. Attitudes need to be fed. Whatever you feed grows. If you feed your attitude resentment
What You Feed Your Mind Grows
SPEAKER_03every day, resentment will grow. If you constantly replay what somebody did to you, anger will grow. If every conversation is about what's wrong, negativity grows. And it spreads like wildfire because it's surface level. If all the content you consume on a daily basis, music, TV, video games, whatever it is, books, makes you angry, jealous, fearful, dissatisfied, it will eventually start eating at and affecting your spirit. Romans 12, twelve says, be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Notice the word renewing. That means this isn't a one-time thing. Your mind needs maintenance. Just like your body, you take a shower every day because you keep getting dirty. Your mind needs regular cleansing as well because life keeps throwing dirt at you. Trash. We're exposed every day to opinions, comparison, bad news, drama, social media, arguments, fear, temptation, offense, defense. And if you just never clean your mind, clean your spirit, you never intentionally do that, eventually all that noise becomes your attitude. It shapes you. So sometimes you might need to turn your phone off. Sometimes you might need to stop reading the comments. Sometimes you need to stop calling the person who encourages drama and bitterness. You know that unhealthy friend. You're mad, you call them. By the time you start the conversation, you're only mad about a level three, but then by the time you hang up with them, uh you're like on 12, way past ten. You know? You have to be careful, careful who shapes your attitude. I mean, you really need friends that say, I understand you're upset, but don't do anything, you know, you're not thinking in your right mind. You know, don't do anything that's gonna harm you. You want a friend that's gonna talk you down. You want a friend that's gonna reason with you. You know? And I'm not, attitude doesn't mean fake positivity. Let's let's be clear about that. Having a good attitude doesn't mean you're pretending your pain doesn't exist. Faith is not pretending. You can love God and still have a bad day. You can trust God and still cry. You can be grateful and still admit you're disappointed. You can believe things will get better and still acknowledge that right now things hurt. I mean, look at David, look at Psalms. David was honest. There were moments where he basically said, God, where are you? How long is this going to last? Why are my enemies winning? That's real emotion. That's what makes David amazing. He pours out his frustration. It makes him real. But he always reminds himself of who God is. That's the difference. That's the argument of attitude. A healthy attitude isn't nothing's wrong. A healthy attitude says something's wrong, but wrong doesn't get the final word.
[Ad] Just Be True ~ A Soul-Led Podcast
SPEAKER_03It's kind of like hurting but having hope. You're still disappointed, but you still trust God. You're tired, but you're not going to quit. You don't understand, but you know that God is still there and God is still in control. That's what true faith looks like. And then let's talk about another one, a hard one. A lot of times we are the problem. And
(Cont.) What You Feed Your Mind Grows
SPEAKER_03I know nobody wants to hear that. You see, it's much easier to project to somebody else's attitude. Well, my spouse has an attitude, my wife has an attitude, my coworker has an attitude, my kids have an attitude, my boss has an attitude, my friends have an attitude. Okay, well, what about you? Sometimes we just walk into a room irritated and then wonder why everybody else seems irritated. Sometimes we speak out of line and then get offended by somebody's response. A lot of times we assume the worst about people and then treat our assumption as if it's a fact. So, really, before we think, well, God, I need you to change them. Maybe sometimes it needs to be God show me. Show me where my pride hides. Show me where my bitterness stays. Show me where I've become difficult to learn, where I've become difficult to be corrected, where I've become difficult just to advance and grow. Show me where I've become negative. Show me where I've become selfish. Show me where my attitude is pushing away the very people I keep praying for. The very people that I pray that would understand me. You see, that's a prayer. That's a prayer of humility. But that's what needs to grow. Humility needs to grow. So let's look at five ways we can uh reset our attitude. Number one, before
Five Ways To Reset Your Attitude
SPEAKER_03responding or reacting, we should pause. Not every emotion needs an immediate response. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is wait before sending a response. Wait before giving a response. You don't have to respond out of emotion. You don't have to respond out of anger. Number two, ask yourself what is actually true, not what you feel, not what you assume. What do you actually know? You see, stop assuming. Number three, find something to thank God for, even if it's timey. God, I thank you for today. God, I thank you for my family. God, I thank you for another chance. God, I thank you for providing. God, I thank you for just growing me. Gratitude shifts your perspective, and perspective leads the way. That's why they call it perspective. Number four, watch your words. Stop speaking defeat over yourself. Stop saying things I'll never change. Stop saying things I cannot do. Stop saying that'll never happen. Nobody cares. I'll never change. Everything always goes wrong. I can't do anything right. You see, words reinforce your attitude. So speak truth instead of lies. Start saying, I know this is gonna be hard, but God willing, I'm gonna get through it. I know I made a mistake. Please teach me so I don't make the same mistake. You see the difference? I don't see the answer, but God please show me. Number five, do not react. Do not get emotional. Pray first. Pray before you react. Or this, don't react, pray, then act. Don't react, pray, then act. Even a simple prayer like God, please help me respond right now. You see, that one little prayer can save you from a regretful conversation. I promise you. I can assure you. So let's close with this today. You guys choose your own attitude. Pick your poison. Choose your attitude. Don't pick your poison. Because it's not poison. A good attitude is not poisonous, but you can pick a poison if you want. But I want you to remember something today. Your attitude won't change every circumstance, but your attitude can change how you walk through those circumstances. You don't get to choose every single battle, every single fight, but you get to choose who you become while fighting. You don't get to choose everything people say about you, but you get to choose whether their words become your identity. You don't get to choose every closed door, but you get to choose whether a closed door makes you bitter or makes you trust God deeper. And maybe today you realize maybe it was your attitude. Maybe it's not been good lately, and that's okay. Because it's never too late to reset. You don't have to carry yesterday's frustrations anymore today. You don't have to carry this morning's frustrations into this afternoon. You don't have to carry somebody else's negativity into your life. You don't have to stay trapped in an attitude that's stealing your peace. All you have to do is ask God to renew your mind. Ask him to soften your heart, and ask him to help you see every situation different. But because God's realistically, sometimes we're asking God to change our circumstances while God is using our circumstances to change us. And that's a fact. Philippians 4 8 tells us to think about what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise. In other words, pay attention to what you allow to live in your mind. Pay attention to your gatekeeper. Your body is the castle. Your mind is the gatekeeper. Your heart is the throne room. Do not let anybody just enter your castle. Pay attention to what you allow to live in your mind. Because your thoughts affect your attitude, your attitude affects your actions, and your actions help shape your decisions. So, guys, this week, when something doesn't go your way, when somebody irritates you, when your plans fail, when you're just simply waiting, then you get tempted to complain. Stop and think for a second and ask yourself, what attitude am I choosing right now? And then remember, I may not control everything around me, but with God's help, I can control what I allow to grow within me. Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for another day, Lord. We thank you for an opportunity to grow. We just thank you for another opportunity. It's amazing. Just Lord, help us recognize the areas where our attitudes need to change the most, Lord. Help us
Prayer, Challenge, And Next Steps
SPEAKER_03renew our minds, guard our hearts. Help us to release bitterness, anger, jealousy, negativity, and pride. Give us an attitude of your son Jesus, Lord. When things do not go our way, Lord, please teach us to trust you. When people hurt us, Lord, just give us wisdom in how we respond. Lord, just give us patience when we respond. Lord, when we're blessed, just keep us and hold us. And just we we just thank you so much. We are so grateful. And Lord, when life gets difficult, Lord, just remind us that the circumstances do not determine your goodness. Lord, help us carry peace into every room that we may enter today and this week. Lord, help us say words that build instead of destroy. Help us become more like Jesus through every situation that we face. Lord, it's in Yeshua's in Jesus' holy, heavenly name. Amen and hallelujah. Well, guys, um thank you for listening today. And um, if you like the podcast, please share it. Visit the website www.forchministry.com.
