We challenge the hidden trap of people pleasing and the way it quietly turns fear into silence, compromise, and approval chasing. We anchor the way out in Proverbs 29:25 and decide to trust God’s voice over everyone else’s opinions.
• worship as a reset for the heart and mind
• Proverbs 29:25 and the fear of man as a hidden snare
• “Whoever you fear most is who you will obey the most” as a test for motives
• approval seeking as an identity trap that steals peace
• Galatians 1:10 on serving Christ rather than pleasing people
• Psalms 56 on choosing trust while fear is still present
• Acts 5:29 and the cost of obeying God over men
• self-reflection questions to spot fear disguised as “peace”
• prayer for courage, obedience, and freedom from criticism
If you don't know God, you don't know Jesus, you don't have a relationship, today you need to get right.

A Toast To The Misfits

SPEAKER_00

Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see the world differently, who don't fit neatly into boxes, and refuse to live by someone else's script. You can quote them, you can disagree with them, you can glorify them or vilify them, you can shake your head at their ideas or be inspired by their courage. But the one thing you cannot do is ignore them. Because they change things. They disrupt what's comfortable, they challenge what's normal, and they push the human race forward. Sometimes with loud revolutions, sometimes with quiet persistence that changes everything over time. They see possibility where others see limits. They dare to dream out loud when the world tells them to be silent. They take risks, they stumble, they rise again, and they keep going. Not because it's easy, but because they can't imagine doing anything else. These are the ones who remind us that every great leap forward was once considered impossible. So here's to them: the ones who won't sit down, won't be quiet, and won't stop until the world is different.

Worship, Music, And Morning Fire

SPEAKER_02

Man, that felt good. I haven't done that. I haven't played, I think it was the first week of April when I played out last. But I don't just normally pick the guitar up and practice and that sort of thing. I have to something has to go inside of me and say, hey, pick the guitar up. And this morning I just felt like doing that, and that's the first time I've played that song I know in six months. But music is worship, and the spirit loves the worship. It doesn't matter where or what time. I mean, this is real early in the morning. I love it, I love it, I

Proverbs 29:25 And The Snare

SPEAKER_02

love it. Well, today we've got a good subject. I hope you guys came with your thinking caps on. Um, we're gonna talk about, we're gonna talk about something in Proverbs. I love it. I love it. We're gonna talk about the trap of people pleasing, because it is a trap. So if you look at your Bibles in Proverbs chapter 29, verse 25, it says, the fear of man bringeth a snare, but who put his trust in the Lord shall be safe. So let me ask you a couple questions. Have you ever just stayed quiet when God told you to speak? Did you have something like nudging you, pulling at your heartstrings, saying you need to say something, but you didn't? Kind of like, have you ever watered down your convictions just so people wouldn't reject you? Or so you would look cool. You see, that's what proverbs means by snare. A snare is a hidden trap. The fear of people doesn't always look like fear. Sometimes it looks like approval seeking or over-explaining or pretending or compromising what you know to be wrong or not right, or just simply staying silent, being a complice. I'm gonna say something, and you can write this down, or you could say it ten times, seventeen times. It doesn't matter. Whoever you fear most is who you will obey the most. I'm gonna say it again. Whoever you fear most is who you will obey the most. You see, approval through people and fear of man traps your identity, who you are. That's what twenty-nine twenty-five means in Proverbs. The fear of man bringeth a snare. But here's the good news is whosoever putth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

How Approval Traps Your Identity

SPEAKER_02

So let's back up a minute. What do you mean by that? What do you mean by fear of man traps your identity? Well, when you live for people's approval, you become a prisoner of their opinions. That means your peace, your peace starts and stops, rises and falls with what they think, what they say, whether they clap or not, whether they criticize, whether it's creative criticism or insult. Your peace stops and starts with that. But you see, the God that created you called you to trust him. He didn't call you to be controlled by people or put your trust in people. He called you to trust him. And his approval matters the most. Galatians one, chapter one, verse ten. For now, do I persuade men or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet please men, I should not be the servant of Christ. You see what Paul's saying here? It's plain as day. You cannot fully surrender to Yeshua while being a slave to human approval. You can't serve two masters. You cannot fully surrender to Jesus Christ while being a slave to human approval. It doesn't mean you have to become rude, arrogant, or dismissive. It means you have to stop letting people take God's seat next to you in your life. People can have opinions, but they cannot have the throne.

Choosing Trust When Fear Talks

SPEAKER_02

Let's look at Psalms fifty-six, three, and four. When I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God, I will praise his word. What can flesh do unto me? You see, David doesn't pretend that the fear is not real. He says it right there in the opening statement. When I am afraid, you see, that means faith is not absence of fear. Faith is choosing trust while fear is talking smack. You see, there's gonna be moments when people understand you. There's gonna be moments when people reject you. There is gonna be moments when people criticize you, your obedience. But David is there to remind us, right there in Psalms, that flesh is limited and the God, the author in the sky, the great Adonai, he is eternal. So when I say these things, make sure your obedience to God comes before your approval to another person. Another cross-reference, look at Acts chapter 5, 29. It says, We ought to obey God rather than men. You see, in those times, in the in the Acts of the Apostle, Peter and the Apostles were pressured by men to stop preaching. But you see, they refuse to let any kind of human intimidation silence their assignment from God. And sometimes following God's gonna cost you. It's gonna cost you likes, it's gonna cost you applauses, it's gonna cost you friends, it's gonna cost you family. And a lot of times obedience looks uncomfortable to other people. But let me tell you something. Let me tell you something right now. I would rather lose the approval of another human being than lose the alignment with the God who created me. Because approval is temporary. But you see, obedience to God has eternal weight, not temporary weight, eternal weight. That is the real flex. So let's reflect on it personally.

Questions To Expose People Pleasing

SPEAKER_02

Because a lot of times I have to ask myself, and maybe you should ask yourself this too. Am I making this decision because God led me? Or is it because I'm afraid of what people think? That's a good one, right? Another one is am I staying silent because it is wisdom? Or is it because I I'm scared because of fear? A lot of times we think things in our head, and 98% of the things that we think of in our head never come to fruition, never become truth. And last time I checked, everything I've read in the Bible talks about seek God's truth. Not a human's truth, not a person's opinion, but seek God's truth. So another thing I I ask myself, am I calling it peace when it's really people pleasing?

How The Trap Starts Small

SPEAKER_02

You see, the fear of man starts small. It's kind of like a whisper of a rumor. It it doesn't shout big. Sometimes it does. Sometimes you may get a new boss at a job or whatever, you know, he might come in like a Billy Bad Butt. But you know, and and the normal person who's trying to protect their living, this, that, and the other, they're gonna fear the Billy Bad Butt, right? Because they don't want to get fired or whatever. They want to get in the good graces. But you see what I'm talking about? How can that control your life? A lot of times it whispers, just fit in, don't say much, don't be different. Just go with the flow. Do what everybody else is doing. But let me tell you something right now. Let me tell you something, let me let you in on a little secret. Yeshua did not die for me, he did not die for you to live chained to people's opinions. So when you read the book of Proverbs, chapter 29, verse 25, it gives both the warning and the way out. The warning is fear of man is a trap. The way out is God. Because you don't have to perform for people, you don't have to shrink just to be accepted. You don't have to compromise to keep people happy, or to keep a crowd, or to keep friends, or to even to keep family. As long as you trust God, as long as you obey God, he'll keep you safe if you let him.

Prayer For Courage And Obedience

SPEAKER_02

Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Father God, I love you. Father God, please. I struggle with the fear of people. I struggle with seeking others' opinions. I struggle with criticism. Lord, please help me. And I know if there's somebody listening out there struggling with the same thing, please touch them as well. Remind them that all we have to do is seek your approval, nobody else's. And that comes with obedience. Lord, teach me to trust you when I feel afraid, Father. Give me the courage to stand up like Paul, pray like David, and all the other great men in the Bible. Lord, I'm asking you that your voice be louder than everyone else's opinion. I ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Yeshua, the King of Kings. The beginning and the end. The great I am. I pray these things in Yeshua's name. Amen and hallelujah.

The Key Out Of The Cage

SPEAKER_02

Guys, I'm gonna leave you with this. The fear of people builds a cage. But God's already given you that key. All you have to do is be obedient, is trust in God. That's all you have to do. And if you don't know God, you don't know Jesus, you don't have a relationship, today you need to get right.
