Life can feel like a storm that steals our focus and shakes what we thought was secure. We look at Peter stepping out of the boat, why fear makes us sink, and how Yeshua’s grace reaches us immediately when we cry for help.
• storms can hit even when we obey God
• God promises presence, not a storm-free life
• the boat as comfort, control, and false security
• faith as taking the next step without the full staircase
• sinking starts when we shift focus from Yeshua to the wind
• what we focus on expands, fear grows when we feed it
• grace shows up immediately when we cry, “Lord, save me”
• struggle can produce revelation and worship
• the quiet faith of the old man with cancer and the danger of judging what we don’t understand

Have you ever felt like life was crashing in on you? Like the winds of anxiety were blowing. The waves of uncertainty were rising. And the very thing you thought would hold you together started to fall apart. Maybe it's your finances. Maybe it's your family. Maybe it's your health. It might even be your calling. But if we're being honest with ourselves, sometimes faith feels easy when that water is calm. But what happens when God calls you to trust Him in the middle of a storm? Today we're going to talk about one of the most powerful scriptures. One of the most powerful miracles in Scriptures. When Yeshua walked on the water, and Peter followed, Peter stepped out of the boat. And this story is much bigger than water. The story is about faith. If you look at Matthew chapter 14, 25 and 31, it says, And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit. And they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spoke unto them, saying, Be of good cheer, it is I. Do not be afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it is you, bid me to come out unto the water. And Jesus said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked out of the water to go to Jesus. But when Peter saw the wind was boisterous, he was afraid, and he was beginning to sink. He cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand. You see, storms do not mean God has left you. The disciples were exactly where Yeshua told them to be. And yet they still encountered a storm. Let that think in. Because a lot of times we think if I'm obeying God, life should be easier. But obedience does not eliminate storms. And a lot of times, obedience leads you straight into one. You see, the disciples were not in rebellion, they were in God's will. And still the winds came. Isaiah forty-three, verse two. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee. Guys, God never promised a storm-free life. But he did promise his presence. Yeshua will meet you in what you fear. The very thing the disciples feared was the very place that Yeshua showed up. And he came in walking on something they thought would destroy him. But you see, the waves they feared were under his feet. That anxiety was under his feet. That diagnosis was under his feet. That uncertainty was under his feet. Guys, your crisis does not intimidate God. Look at Psalms ninety-three, verse four. The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters. But you have to understand what we're talking about right here and right now. Because faith requires you to step out on that water, leaving the boat, leaving the security of the boat. Peter said, Lord, if it's you, tell me to come. And Yeshua gave one word. One word, that's it. Come. No five-year plan, no detailed explanation, no goals, no business strategy. Just come. If you look at that, sometimes God gives you enough instruction for the next step, but not the whole staircase. Like I said, that boat represents security. That boat represents comfort. That boat represents routine control, security. But we miss the boat a lot of times because faith often requires leaving what feels safe. What feels normal. What feels secure. But in Second Corinthians chapter five, verse seven, it says, For we walk by faith, not by sight. When you shift your focus from faith to sight, you start sinking. Guys, Peter was walking in the supernatural. Then he took his eyes off Jesus. He looked at the wind, he looked at the waves. He looked at the problem and he began to sink. Because what you focus on expands. If you focus on fear, fear grows. If you focus on problems, problems grow. But if you focus on the living God Yeshua, your faith grows. Hebrews chapter 12, verse 2. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. The end and the beginning, the Alpha and Omega. The word. Because even somebody who is sinking in their faith can still cry out. Peter began sinking, but he knew exactly who to call. Lord save me. And scripture even says Yeshua immediately grabbed his hand. Immediately. Not eventually, not after punishment for looking away, but immediately. That is the very meaning of grace. Even shaky faith, even shaky faith can still reach heaven. What did the storm do? What did it do? It produced reality. Because after all was said and done, the disciples worshiped and said, Truly, you are the Son of God. So the storm actually revealed his identity. And a lot of times your greatest revelation in life or of God comes through your greatest struggle. Because pain can produce perspective. Storms can produce worship. So let me ask you a question, a couple questions today. Is there a boat you're afraid to leave? Is there a storm that has stolen your focus on the Messiah? Is there something impossible that you think is impossible that God is calling you to trust Him with? And the most important question of all: what would happen if you fixed your eyes on Yeshua again? Guys, you may feel like you're drowning now. But hear me out. Hear me out. The same God who walked on the water still walks into impossible situations today, right now, forever, and always. The same God who picked up Peter can catch you. The same voice that said, Come, is still calling people every day. So don't let fear keep you in the boat. Don't let that false evidence appearing real keep you on the sideline. Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you, Lord. We thank you, Lord, that you are Lord over every storm in our life. Lord, please teach us to trust you when life feels uncertain. Give us the courage to step out of the boat. Help us to keep our eyes focused on you when fear tries to distract us. When all psychological war is waged on us, help us keep focused on you. And most of all, when our faith feels weak, please remind us that your hand is still strong enough and it's reaching out to save us. It's in Yeshua's holy heavenly name. Amen and hallelujah. Guys, if this message blessed you, please share it with somebody. Because I'm gonna be the first to tell you that your storm is only temporary and his power is eternal. So keep your arms stretched out for him, keep walking by faith, keep your eyes focused on the one who matters. Yeshua, the great redeemer, the great healer. And guys, if you don't have a relationship with him, with the Savior, you better get right.

Every Sunday morning, a weak old man would slowly walk into the chapel, stand quietly at the back for just a minute or two, and then leave without a word. People began to whisper among themselves, why does he even come if he never stays? The pastor noticed it too, so one day he stopped the old man at the door. Sir, why do you leave so quickly? The man murmured softly. This place, it isn't meant for someone like me, and turned away. Some members grew annoyed. He's pretending, disrespecting the church, they said. And eventually, the pastor agreed. The next Sunday, as the old man arrived, the pastor stepped in front of him. You can't come in anymore, he said. You walk out as if God means nothing to you. The old man's eyes filled with tears. Please, just a moment, he whispered. No more excuses, the pastor said. Leave and don't return. With trembling hands, the man turned away and walked off in silence. A few days later, the pastor received a call. One of your weekly visitors has passed away, the voice said. Who? The frail old man who stood at the back every Sunday. He was battling late-stage cancer. He couldn't stand for more than a minute before the pain took over. But those few seconds in God's house gave him the strength to live through another week. The pastor rushed to the hospital, but he was too late. On the bedside table lay a small handwritten note. Dear Lord, thank you for letting me feel close to you every Sunday, even if only for a moment. I wish I could have stayed longer. Please don't blame them. They didn't understand. The pastor broke down in tears. The man wasn't being disrespectful. He was holding on to faith with the last of his strength. Drop a heart if you believe God understands every silent prayer.
