We walk through Holy Monday and the moment Jesus curses the fig tree and clears the temple, then we bring the message straight into our own lives. We trade spiritual appearance for real connection with God and ask what it looks like to bear fruit instead of just looking faithful.
• Holy Monday in Holy Week and why it challenges us
• The fig tree as a picture of leaves without fruit
• The temple cleansing and what it exposes in religious routine
• How faith becomes performance instead of connection
• Honest self-exam questions about spiritual dryness and going through the motions
• Grace for empty places and a call back to a real heart

Prayer And Palm Sunday Setup

SPEAKER_01

Um here's a clip from what happened yesterday on Palm Sunday. So check this out. Listen to this, and then we're gonna go right into Holy Monday and what it means and what it represents. And before we do that, I'm gonna say a short prayer. Um, dear Heavenly Father, just come to us today, Lord. I pray for everybody listening on this faith cast this morning. I pray that you make our lives bear real fruit. Lord, please clean us of anything that doesn't honor you, Lord. Lord, please just teach us to worship you in truth and not appearance, Lord. It's in Jesus' holy, heavenly name we pray. Amen and hallelujah. Well, guys, welcome to the show. And here's a clip to kind of catch you up from Palm Sunday, and then we're gonna dive right into Holy Monday. Thank you guys. I love you guys, God bless you guys, and enjoy the show.

SPEAKER_04

Do you hear that? Sounds like multitudes.

SPEAKER_03

This is the moment the Messiah, save us.

SPEAKER_02

Stay away from us. We mean no harm. You tried to kill us. No one wants a riot.

SPEAKER_05

John Z. I want to hear the mouth.

SPEAKER_04

If you turn back now, it can save your life.

SPEAKER_05

Wait, we're not going to do that. Do you hear that chanting? The people sound like they're ready to crown them king! And for declaring yourself a sovereign, Ru will descend on us all! I have said nothing about an earthly crown ever. You're riding a donkey. For those of us who know prophecy, your meaning could not be any more clear.

SPEAKER_02

What does he mean?

SPEAKER_00

Second prophecy of the Messiah. Behold, your king is coming to you. Righteous and salvation riding on a donkey. The people haven't even seen the donkey yet.

SPEAKER_02

And once they do, everything they hope for will be confirmed. It already is. Did you see? We should be rejoicing. This is the moment, and we will all be saved.

SPEAKER_04

Jesus will not be safe inside the city gates.

SPEAKER_05

Even these very stolen among us can cry out in their place.

SPEAKER_01

Seeing in the distance a fig tree and leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not in season for figs. Then he said to the tree, May no one ever eat fruit from you again. And his disciples heard him say it. On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. As he taught them, he said, Is it not written, My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations? But you have made it a den of robbers. The chief priest and teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him. For they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching. When evening came, Jesus and his disciples went out of the city.

SPEAKER_05

Usually comes before or along with leaves. Leaves promise fruit, even if just the beginning of growth. And there was nothing. This tree gave the appearance of fruit, but lacked anything good. Does that remind you of anything? The temple. And cursed the leaders there for the same reason as this tree. I'm here to tear down what isn't bearing fruit.

Performance Faith And Honest Grace

Heart Check And Holy Week Challenge

SPEAKER_01

Hey guys. As we step into Holy Week, we're not just remembering events. We're walking with Jesus through some of the most intense, revealing days of his time here, his ministry. And today, Holy Monday, is a day that actually challenges us. I think every day is, but I think Palm Sunday and Holy Monday are very important. Because this is the day Jesus walks into the temple. He flips tables. He doesn't do it because he's angry for no reason. I mean, he has every reason in the world. Look what they've done to his father's temple. He sees something that we missed. He sees something that everybody missed. You see, people are acting spiritual, but they're not really living it. It says Jesus was hungry, seeing in the distance a fig tree. He went out to find out if it had any fruit. But guys, it didn't. And he says, May no one ever eat fruit from you again, just like I read in the scripture. Then he goes into the temple. Verses 15 through 17. My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations, but you have made it a den of robbers. You see, two scenes happening today, and there's one message. Just one. Two major events happen, and there's one message. You see, there's a tree full of leaves, but there's no fruit. There's a temple full of activity, but there is no presence. And here's where it gets wild, guys. That fig tree looked healthy from a distance. It looked good from far away. You know? It's just like everything. Leaves equal appearance. But fruit equals reality. And you see, Jesus is not impressed by leaves. You want to know why? Because leaves can be fake. What I mean by that is you can say the right things, you can show up at church, you can post scripture, you can look like the model biblical poster child, and still be empty on the inside. Let's look at the temple. It's the same issue. The same exact issue. People selling, buying, exchanging money. You know, a lot of activity going on. You could call it religious because it's circled around a religious moment. But it's just activity. They actually replaced a relationship with God. They lost the heart of it. They replaced it with routine. Let's compare this today. But I'm not. They knew when to raise their hands. They knew how to blend in. But you see, secretly behind the strings, they were, behind the scenes, they were uh struggling silently. They were disconnected from God. They were feeling fake. Or really, they just weren't that smart. You know? And that's the only thing they knew, because that's what they were taught. They had a veil over their eyes. And you see, one day, one day you will look down or they look down and said, I don't know if my faith is real anymore because I'm going to the motions, right? Not because they didn't believe, but because it became performance instead of connection. But you see, guys, there's always a turning point. Instead of pretending you can be honest. Instead of pretending they got honest. More like, God, I've got leaves, but I don't have any fruit. So when you do that, when you're honest, you experience grace. Because Jesus, he didn't come to shame empty people. He came to restore the ones who wanted to be restored. Even if they knew it or they didn't know it. You see, what's important to understand is this Jesus flipping tables is not about anger. He's not mad at broken people. He's just trying to protect what is sacred. You see, the temple, his father's temple, God's temple, was supposed to be a house of prayer for all nations. A place where anybody could come. Broken, messed up, somebody searching to meet God. They could come and meet God. But you see, it became a Walmart. It became a circus. It had become crowded. It had become like Black Friday before Christmas. It became crowded with noise, distraction. Everybody was worried about their self. And who could buy the best sacrifice? You see? And here's the real question for us all. Has our hearts become like the temple? Has our hearts become hard like the temple? So busy, so full? So disconnected from God. But you see, there's grace. With God, there's grace. And this part matters. And this is what Jesus came to expose. This is the problem that he came to expose. Jesus doesn't just walk away from people. Even this week, knowing his faith, knowing the cross was coming, knowing what he had to do, he kept showing up every day, calling people back home, inviting them deeper. Because the truth is, guys, God meets you where you are. God meets you where you are, even if you're empty, even if you're distracted, even if you struggle with something. You see, God loves you too much to leave you. God loves you too much to leave you pretending. God loves you too much to leave you performing. God loves you too much to leave you spiritually dry. So guys, I want to challenge you today for this Monday of Holy Week. Guys, don't just be leaves. Bear fruit. I'm not talking about perfect fruit. But I'm talking about real connection. I'm not talking about appearance and how you look. But I'm talking about real authenticity. You see, Jesus isn't looking for impressive faith. Jesus is not looking for polished words. And Jesus is not looking for perfect behavior. What he is looking for is an honest and real heart. So take a moment today, right now, and ask yourself. Where am I right now? Where is my heart right now? In accordance to my faith? Am I just going through the motions? Am I spiritually tired? Am I making excuse after excuse? Am I just looking okay on the outside? But really, I'm empty on the inside? Guys, if that's you, I'm not condemning you. Because trust me, I'm right there in that pool with you. Guys, I'm just inviting you. I'm just inviting you. Dear Heavenly Father, just clear out what does not belong in our hearts today. Make them real again, Lord. Lord, we ask you to grow something in us that last for eternity, Lord. Not just temporary like this world, Lord. Lord, I pray that this hits home today. That your message is clear. Dear Heavenly Father, it's in Jesus' name we pray these things. Amen. You see, I know I know we can all do it. I've seen it done over and over and over. So guys, as we continue through Holy Week today, just observe Jesus. Let him change your heart. Listen to the Spirit. And guys, remember, he's not after your image. He's not after your money. He's not after your service. He's not after what you can do. He's not after your ability. He's not after your talent. He is simply after your heart. So if you do not have a relationship with him today, guys, I beg you, get right.

SPEAKER_05

Well, what do you have to say for yourself? Is it not written that my house should be called a house of prayer for all nations? But you make it a den of thieves. No more purchased animals or sacrifices are to be brought through this gate. Do you hear me? Hassel!

SPEAKER_02

I say no more! Do you have to have this fame of buffer? Do you do this?

SPEAKER_01

So here is the method. So let's straight step the five. Let's find the business and let's build the legacy.com scores slash B rock. So that's 299.com scores 18 ROP.
