Hey guys, it's B-Rop. It's the Food for Thought Face, and it is an amazing, beautiful day outside. Had the windows open all night, got down to about 65, woke up a little chilly. I got a sweatshirt on, but we're gonna keep the windows open because it cost a lot to get that AC kicking. And why would you pay for AC when you got God's AC and it's beautiful? Speaking of God's AC, this morning is a great day. Uh got all contracted and ready to go. Finally, everything's good to go. So the progress is moving again for the insurance agency. That is an amazing thing. So you see, I was all worried and I was all upset and I was all down in the dumps last week because I felt like things were not moving on my pace. But you know, I read something yesterday. Yeah, I read something yesterday. So I actually wrote this podcast yesterday, but I just didn't record it because I wanted to wait till today. Um, but yesterday ended up being a great day, and today's gonna be even better because when you live in God, when you live in with God and you're walking with God, I mean, who can who can slow you down? Who can stop you? You know, who can stop you? Guys, make sure you visit the website www.forchministry.com and check out the book Discernment. It's on Amazon. It's called uh Discernment, a wake-up call for a generationally cursed society. And um, guys, check out the music. And man, I got some new stuff going on. I got some new stuff going on, and we're gonna talk about that more. But let's dive into the podcast. Today we're gonna be looking at 1 Peter. If you want to turn your Bible to 1 Peter, we're gonna be in chapter 7. Um, looking at verse 7, and basically cast your cares on God. You know, when you worry down trotten, when you're when you're just down in the dumps. Dang, what it where did that word come from? I didn't even write that down. Down trotten. I haven't heard that word since I was a kid, probably, and I'm 51 years old. Wild, but you know how God works, and um, and it's an amazing thing. So, have you ever, you know, had a day where your mind just won't slow down, you know? You're lying in bed, the thoughts racing, you got so much anxiety, you know. You start thinking about work, family, finances, future. You know, you're carrying a weight and it feels overwhelming. I mean, that's kind of where I've been the past four months, and God's just kind of been like, sit still, Brian, I got this. Sit still, B Rob, I got this. Just chill. And you know, we argue daily because I don't want to just chill. I mean, I'm still not just chilling, but I think what he means is just chill. Who knows? I might be so busy in the next coming months that I can't even see straight, which will be a good thing. But I think he's preparing and resting me up for that, you know? And you don't ever know until you look back because the future will always prove the past. What I mean by that is a year from now you'll look back at today and say, I didn't understand that then, but I know now why. Does that make sense? And keep in mind, a heavenly day is a thousand years to a day on earth. So, I mean, one day in heaven is a thousand years on earth. So, technically speaking, Jesus died on the cross about a week ago and and he ascended, what, two days ago, three days ago, two days ago? If you look at it from a heavenly mathematical aspect, yeah, that's that box I don't live in, and that stuff blows your mind. But it says it in the Bible, you know, so it's not that I'm pulling this stuff out of thin air or anything. But I mean, do you guys I know you guys get the same overwhelming feelings that I do. I mean, because the truth and the fact is we live in a world where it's we're in a pressure cooker, you know? And especially right now, there's so much uncertainty because that is the war we are in, it's called an informational war. Okay. So anxiety and worry are at an all-time high. And it's very common in modern lives. I mean, people actually go to entertain themselves, to put themselves under stress and watch horror flicks that make them jump off the side of their chair, as if life itself is not a horror flick. I mean, I don't I don't understand that sort of thing. You know, of course, I used to love it, and I used to listen to heavy metal music and all that angry, and I guess I don't know it was in uh I don't know. But I just know I anymore I'm looking for peace and calm and nice walks in nature, and those things seem to be few and far between, and the other stuff seems the noise seems to be uh normal. So if that makes sense, guys, I I you know, but let's get back. I mean, the Bible gives us a powerful reminder about what we're supposed to do with you know times like these, in times like these, which are just normal times. Um, so if you look at 1 Peter 5, 7, it says, Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. You see, this is an instructional verse, and it's one and another one of those promises of God. So, you know, cast your anxiety on God, and then the promise is that he cares for you. So there's a a give and return there. And once again, that's context. So if you want to understand it better, you look at 1 Peter 5, 6 and 7. It says, Humble yourselves therefore under God's mighty hand, and then he'll may lift you up in due time. Then it says, Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. So you see how these verses are intertwined and connected. You see, humility means recognizing things that we cannot control, or it means recognizes that we cannot control everything. You follow what I'm saying? So a lot of times our exact our anxiety, our worry, all that comes from trying to carry responsibilities that were never meant for us. You see what I'm saying? Does that make sense? You see, Peter here says that when we humble ourselves before God, we can actually release those worries to him. We can give them to him. We can put it at the foot of the cross. The word cast, you need to, that word right there in itself is very descriptive. It means to throw something onto something else, cast it. So imagine carrying like an extra hundred pounds all day, like I did, you know. Eventually your knees get weak, your shoulders get tired, you get sore. But when you finally set it down and give it away, or don't have it on your back anymore, whether it's physical, mental, whatever, you feel an immediate relief, right? You feel a sort of overwhelming joy, peace, because you don't have that to carry. So you see, that is the picture that Peter is painting here. That's the illustration. You see, God wants us to take our worries, our bag, our baggage, our extra hundred pounds. It could be an extra 200 pounds, it could be just an extra 20 pounds. It doesn't matter. He wants you to take that, he wants you to place it on him. Cast it. Throw it onto him. And you see, there's something very important in that verse. Peter doesn't say to cast some of them, you know, just a little bit of them. You know, don't give them too much. He doesn't say things like that. He says cast all. So everybody knows what all means, right? Cast all your anxiety on him. All means all of it. Just doesn't it doesn't mean some of it. It doesn't mean a percentage, it means all. So if you've got a hundred pieces, it means all pieces. If you got a hundred pounds, it means all pounds. So that means the big problems, the medium-sized problems, and the small problems. You see? The ones people see, the ones nobody knows about all of them. You see? And he says in the second verse, he gives you the reason we can do that. He gives you an explanation in the second half of the verse. It says, because he cares for you. He meaning God, the Father, the Creator, the author. You see, that's an incredible personal statement because God is not distance. He knows your struggles. He knows exactly what you're going through. You see, scripture tells us that he cares about that. He cares about you personally, genuinely. You see, because he cares of you for you. You see, Jesus spoke about the exact same truth. If you look at Matthew, chapter six, verse twenty six, it says, Look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? You see, this is a pretty serious question coming from the King of Kings, right? So why do we worry? Why are we so anxious? What does that look like in our everyday life? How do we actually cast our anxieties on God? You see, I mean, we can use examples and imply them, but those are good questions. Those are questions that we all should ask, right? Let's let's give examples like bring your worries and anxieties to God in prayer, right? One of that's one of the most practical, you know, prayer. Wi-Fi. That's our that's our Wi-Fi to God, right? Our email. So instead of carrying our worries in silence, we can go directly to Him through prayer. Umpostle Paul gives good instruction about that in Philippians 4, you know, verses 6 and 7. If you look, do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. And realistically, guys, think about it. What happens when we pray? Our lives change. Might not change the way we want them to, but they change. We bring our worries to God, and in exchange, God does something powerful. Like I said, you may not see it today, but you will. But most of all, he'll bring his peace. Not peace because the problem disappeared, but peace because of the simple fact that you're having faith in God and He is holding what we placed in His hands. Right? We're casting our anxieties onto God. Which means we stop trying to carry the burden ourselves. Number two, trust and have faith in God when you don't have all the answers. Trust and have faith in God. You see, a lot of our worries come because we don't feel like we can solve the problem, right? Or we have to figure it out. And it has to be done now. Because that's the programming, that's the way society wants us to be. But we have to break out of that matrix and that thinking and that programming, right? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. God has this. My God is a God, the King of Kings, He has this, and that's the mindset that we have to have. The mindset of faith. You see, we want to know how things will work out. We want to control the outcome. But that's the opposite of the meaning of faith, because faith means trusting God before we even have a solution. Maybe before we even have a destination. Or even a lot of times before we even have a plan. This is where Proverbs 3 come into play. Verses 5 and 7. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, but in all ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and shun evil. You see, sometimes our worries, our anxiety grow out of control because we try to rely on ourselves and our own understanding to control it. And you see, the Bible says not to do that. We start analyzing every possibility, we start looking at the worst case scenario. That's always been me. I look at every single thing that could possibly happen in reality, it runs through my head within like a ten-second gap. It's like all right, what's the most likely thing to happen? Well, recently I've learned to give that to God. But that creates that kind of mindset, that creates anxiety, worry. You see, that's where Proverbs reminds us that peace actually comes when we trust the Lord with all our heart. Which means believing in things we cannot see and trusting God with those things. Because He already knows. He's already been there. He already went before us. He understands the future that we do not. All we can do is guess selfishly, right? And the third thing, we must surrender all that control that I just talked about to God, and we must do that daily. A lot of times we must do that hourly. Because you know, casting anxiety and worries on God is not just a one-time action. It's like fishing daily, right? It's like going out fishing daily, casting it daily. It's something we have to regularly practice. Because those worries are gonna come back, those anxieties are gonna come back, that devil is gonna come back, those doubts are going to creep back in. You got to put on that armor of God, and every day you have to choose to say, God, I trust you with the situation. God, I place those burdens in your hand. God, I know and believe that you care for me. You see, so the more we practice, the more we trust, the more we begin to experience the peace that God wants us to experience from relying on Him instead of us. Hmm, man. The Spirit is talking today. So let's go back and read the verse one more time. First Peter five, verse seven. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Man. That's like sweet honey, right? That verse reminds us of something incredibly so amazingly important. You were never meant to carry every burden on your own. In fact, you weren't meant to carry any of them. Cast all your worries. You see, God invites you to bring your worries, your fears, and your uncertainties, your doubts, all of the things that The life, this life, the evil one, all of those things that are thrown at you, he invites you to bring them to him. And see, when we trust, even when we don't fully understand what he's doing, he promises to guide our path. Just like Proverbs said, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to him, and he will make your path straight. You see, sometimes the greatest act of faith is simply saying, God, I trust you with what I cannot control. Guys, let's go to the Lord in prayer. Dearly Father, we thank you today, Lord. We thank you for just giving us life. We thank you for giving us these reminders, Lord. Thank you for reminding us that through your word we do not have to carry our burdens alone, Lord. Lord, we pray that you help us trust you with all our hearts, Lord, and not rely on us or our understanding, but we pray that you keep us reminded of that fact. That when doubt creeps in, that when anxiety creeps in, that when the evil one tries to overwhelm us, Lord, we pray that you remind us to bring our worries back to you. Lord, teach us to place our fears, struggles, and our future, even though we don't know. Teach us to place them in your hands, Lord, knowing that you are the rock. You are the author. You are the Father that truly cares about his children, Lord. Lord, help us guide our steps, strengthen our faith, Lord, and fill our hearts with the peace that comes in laying everything down and giving it to you, Lord. We thank you for this day. We thank you for this platform. We thank you for anybody who is listening. I pray that it may touch their heart today, Lord, and help them today. It's in Jesus' holy, heavenly name we pray these things. Amen and hallelujah. Guys, before we leave today, just remember this truth. Just remember this fact that you were never meant to carry every burden on your own. That God invites you to place all that stuff in his hands. And first Peter reminds us, 5-7, cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. So whatever you are facing today, whatever uncertainty, whatever fear, whatever it is, take a moment and tell yourself that God has this, that your God is bigger than whatever your problem is, whatever your anxiety is, whatever your fear is, whatever your worry is, God is bigger than whatever you cannot control. So let that peace guard your heart. Guys, thank you for listening today. If uh the pod or the faith cast is encouraging to you, please share it with somebody else. Um guys, I just thank you for letting me speak any kind of truth and light into you today. Um, guys, if you don't have a relationship with Jesus, you better get right. Hashtag get right.
