We ask what a life is worth when weighed by eternity and follow Paul in Acts 20 toward surrender, focus, and finishing the race with grace at the center. The path is not safety or applause, but obedience that turns testimony into assignment and wounds into witness.
• a surrendered life over curated comfort
• the singular aim to finish the marked race
• obedience valued above outcomes and metrics
• grace as the message, not performance
• testimony shaping assignment and daily witness
• reflection on control, distraction, and delay
• prayer for courage to finish faithful

SPEAKER_01Hey guys, it's B Rob. It's the Food for Thought Fake Cast. And that was something that uh somebody sent me, or it was sent in a uh men's Bible study that I do every morning. It's a uh phone call I do um with guys that I've never even met, just met you know, online, that sort of thing. So, but that's a beautiful thing, and we tell each other we love each other and we encourage each other, and that right there, artists by the name of Silhouette and the whole record I listened to four times yesterday in a row, non-stop. And you know it's good when you do that. Um man, guys, it's a great day. It's Friday, the 20th of February, and it's kind of gloomy outside. I think it's gonna rain all weekend, but sometimes the Lord has to send the rain or the storm to wash away certain things. Guys, today we're going to be talking about the books of the book of Acts. And um we're gonna we're gonna call this What is your life worth? So Facebook um Facebook fam, listen to me. Faith Cast fam, sorry about that. Jeez. Let me ask you something, Faith Cast fam. What is your life worth? I'm not talking about what your job says, I'm not talking about what your bank account says. I'm talking about, I'm not talking about what your followers or your critics or you know what I'm saying, your social status says. What is your life worth? What is your life worth in the eyes of eternity? In Acts 20, Acts chapter 20, if you guys have your Bibles turned to Acts chapter 20, the apostle Paul is speaking to the Ephesian elders. He knows suffering is ahead, he knows a prison is coming, he knows hardship is waiting, and yet he still says something that's shocking. He says, However, I consider my life worth nothing to me. You see, that may sound extreme, that may sound radical, and it may sound dangerous to you, but what Paul is really saying is my life is not mine to protect, it is Christ's to spend how he wants it. And see, guys, today I want to talk about three things from the verse. I want to talk about a surrendered life, a focused race, and a finished assignment. You see, a surrendered life, Paul says, I consider my life worth nothing to me. Paul is not saying his life does not have value. He's simply saying my personal comfort has no value compared to my obedience to Christ. You see, there's a difference. The world says protect your peace, the world says protect your image, the world says to protect your comfort, and the world says to protect your brand. Yourself. But you see, the kingdom of God says, present your body as a living sacrifice. That's Romans verse chapter 12, verse 1. You see, Paul understood something we all struggle with. You cannot preserve your life and pour it out. Jesus said it like this in Matthew chapter 16, verse 25. Whoever wants to save their life will lose it. But whoever loses their life for me will find it. You see, we live in a culture obsessed with self-preservation. You see, Paul lived with holy abandonment. And here is where the tension takes place. You see, we want resurrection power, but we don't want the crucifixion surrender. You see, there is no crown without the cross, no glory without the sacrifice, there is no mission without surrender. You see, a surrendered life says, God, I am not the author of the story. You are. Once again, what's the definition of a biography? What's the definition of a testimony? The definition of a biography is an account of one's life. Your life. You see, a testimony is an account of your life, but how God used it for his glory. That's the difference. You see, a surrendered life says, God, I am not the author of the story. My story. You are. Second part of this: a focused race. You see, Paul continues. He says, My only aim is to finish the race. Notice the language he uses here. My only aim. It's singular, it's focus, it's undistracted. You see, Paul didn't say my aim is comfort. Paul didn't say my aim is popularity. And Paul definitely didn't say my aim is safety. He said, My only aim is to finish. You see, that means Paul understood something critical. You don't just accidentally finish well. That's not how it works. You drift away, you slide into compromise, you slowly substitute that calling that you have of God for convenience of this world. But you decide to finish. Hebrews 12, verse 1 says, Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Now, what does that mean? It means there's already a race marked out for you. It's an eternity race. It's not of this world. It's not your neighbor's race, it's not your pastor's race, it's not your favorite celebrities' race. It's your race. You see, here is some hard truth. Comparison will exhaust you, distraction will derail you, fear will absolutely paralyze you. And that's what the evil one, the enemy, that's what this world wants. But you see, clarity will strengthen you. You see, Paul knew there were chains waiting for him. He says earlier in Acts 20, 23, the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. And yet he runs the race anyway. Why? Because Paul knew obedience was more important than outcome. Let me say that again. Paul knew that obedience is way more important than outcome. You see, you are not responsible for the results. You're responsible for running the race. You see, your job is not to make it big, your job is not to be applauded, your job is not to avoid pain. Your job is simply to finish the race. And number three, we talked about a completed assignment. You see, Paul says, and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me. The task of testifying the good news of God's grace. He doesn't need a platform. He doesn't need a preference. He just needs a task. And you see, that task was absolutely crystal clear to testify the good news of God's grace. Of God's grace. Not your performance, not your religion, not your behavior modification, but God's grace. You see, Paul wasn't always an obedient, faithful person. You see, Paul had persecuted Christians. He had blood on his hands. But yet God met him on Damascus Road. God met him where he was. You see, God will do the same for you. So you see, when Paul talks about God's grace, he's not speaking theory, he's speaking testimony. And that's a beautiful thing because we all have testimony, they're just different. You see, Grace took a murderer like Paul and made him a missionary. Grace took a persecutor like Paul and made him a preacher. Grace took a broken man like Paul and gave him a divine assignment. He can do the same for you. You see, Paul knew if God saved him by grace, then his life must be spent proclaiming grace, God's grace. You see, your assignment is connected to your encounter. Ask yourself three things. What has God delivered you from? What has God healed you from? What has He sustained in you? You see, that testimony is not random. It is your task. You see, some of you survived depression. Your task is to testify to grace. Testify of God's grace in that darkness. Some of you survived addiction. Your task is to testify that those chains can fall off. And some of you were simply raised in prayer by good parents. And your task is to cover this generation and the next generation. You see, God saved you all on purpose. Lord, spend my life however you want. You see, that's the prayer Paul lived. Not Lord keep me safe. Not Lord keep me faithful. Not Lord make it easy. But Lord help me finish the race. And finishing well doesn't mean finishing famous. It means finishing faithful. You see, when Paul writes at the end of his life in 2 Timothy 4 7, he says, I have fought the good fought, the fight. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. You see, guys, that's the only success you need. That's success in the kingdom of God. That's not success in numbers. That's not success in noise. That's not success in notoriety, but that is success in obedience and faithfulness. I've got three more questions for you for reflection. Number one is what part of your life are you still trying to control instead of surrender to God? What part of your life are you still in control instead of trying to surrender to God? Number two is what distraction is slowing your race? What distraction is slowing your race? And number three, what assignment has God already given you that you have been postponing? What assignment has God given you that you have been postponing? You see, you don't need a new calling, you just need renewed courage. You don't need a bigger platform, you just need a deeper surrender. I'm gonna close with this, guys. Faith Cast fam, you only get one life, you only get one race, you only get one assignment, you only get one opportunity to pour it out for Jesus Christ. The question is not, will you die? The question is, will you finish? Remember, Paul said, My life is worth nothing to me compared to completing what Jesus gave me to do. You see, that's not recklessness, that's revelation. Guys, when you know eternity is real, when you know grace is greater, when you know Jesus is worth it, you stop living to be safe. You start living for that eternity lens. Go read the book by Bill Coleman, Eternity Lens. It's amazing. So, guys, I'm gonna pray this today, and I want you to repeat after me if you can. Dear Heavenly Father, Lord help me finish the race. Father, help me complete the task. Lord help me testify to your grace. Lord, and when my race is done, let it be said. Good and faithful servant. Lord, we pray these things in Jesus' holy, heavenly, divine name. Amen and hallelujah. Guys, I love you. God loves you. Guys, I think if you like my podcast, you'll love my book, Discment, a wake-up call for a generationally cursed society. It's out on Amazon. Go get you a copy today. Kindle. Uh, audiobook will be out soon. Um, got some new music I'm working on. Love to share it with you soon. Guys, I want to say I love you. God bless you. And if you do not have a relationship with Jesus, if you are not running that race that he has called you to run, guys, you better get right.
