What Story Are You Prophesying Over Your Life
What if the stories we celebrate are the same stories shaping our souls? We open with a gray morning and move straight into a hard look at Halloween, horror-soaked media, and the subtle ways culture trains our kids to call darkness normal. This isn’t about candy; it’s about formation. We unpack a set of pointed questions for parents—when you let your child participate because it looks harmless, when do you draw the line, and why then?—and explore how small choices add up to the person your home is quietly becoming.
From there, we shift to the heart of the gospel. John 3:16 isn’t sentiment; it’s rescue and assurance. We confront the rollercoaster of performance-based peace so many believers ride and anchor our confidence in Christ’s finished work, not the good timing of our best days. Adversity becomes a teacher rather than a threat: pain prepares, failure redirects, delay protects. With a renewed mindset, we learn to expect God in the storm and to speak a better narrative over our lives—because what we confess shapes the direction we walk.
We also name uncomfortable truths about holiness, sexual integrity, and the reality that every one of us will meet our Maker. That urgency isn’t meant to scare; it’s meant to wake us up to a life of courage. Environment is stronger than will, so we call you to guard your influences and surround yourself with people who speak life. We end with a simple challenge: be bold about Jesus in ordinary moments, set clear boundaries in your home, and let gratitude steady your steps when the sky turns gray.

Hey guys, it's B-Robb. It's the Food for Thaw Faith Cast. And it's Sunday, October the 26th. And it's been a gloomy day. But praise God, we are still here. We are still alive. I noticed yesterday I was playing the festival. It was a beautiful morning. I played from 11:30 to about 12.15. And I was in Thompson, Georgia, and it was beautiful, blue skies everywhere. And then I noticed I when I left as I was leaving to go to DJ a wedding, I noticed the lines in the sky started happening. The lines in the sky. And they got worse as the day went on. And today I woke up and there's zero visibility, cloud cover all over. Heard choppers and planes, and but couldn't see a thing. How you guys doing? I love you guys. Just want to say that. Just want to say God is good. For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son. And that's John 3 16. And whosoever shall believe in him shall have everlasting life. That's an amazing thing. It certainly is. Remember, I was talking about how Christians should or shouldn't believe in Halloween. Yeah. Well I saw a post today, so I want to I want to read it to you. It's by Susan Davis. I don't know. She might be a I have no clue who she is, but she says there are Christians who will have nothing to do with Halloween because they actually know the scripture. There are other Christians who will go along with Halloween because it seems like fun and games. The problem is if you participate in Halloween because you think it's just a bunch of nonsense, Satan starts with what seems all too innocent. Like dressing kids up in costumes and giving out candy. Well, it's a trap. The question is for parents, if you promote Halloween to your kids, even trunk or treat at church, when exactly do you pull them out? At what point do you shut it off? The Halloween movies, the events, the activities? Once you get them involved, when do you lower the boom? How low do you sink before you have to slam the door on all of it? Or how do you explain that it was okay, but later, when it's too dark, it's no longer okay. So she says, check out this page. Weaning Christians off Halloween. Where we go into more detail about it. And that's a Facebook page. It's called Weaning Christians Off Halloween. I have not checked it out, but she's got some great questions and some great points because I mean it. So when I was a kid growing up, you couldn't even watch like the end of the first uh Indiana Jones movies without your parents covering your eyes because the melting face. I don't know. I'm I'm sure you Raiders of the Lost Ark, where the guy's face melted when the arc was opened or whatever. Yeah, that sort of thing. So I nowadays you I mean, heck, ten years ago, twelve years ago, you got a show about zombies. I forgot what the name of it is, but you got little kids watching that, and it's gory. People are shooting people, chopping heads off. I mean it's gory. And you've got the uh Lord of the No. No, what was it? The dragon, the I don't remember the name of that one, but it was huge, but it was like it had pornography, it had gore, it had witchcraft, it had demonology, it had everything in it, and it was like one of the mainstream things out. But you see what I'm saying? You see what the world has done? So I get what she's saying. What are we gonna do? Especially for our kids. I wish I known known then when my kids were younger, what I was doing. I wish I I wish I I guess what I'm saying is I wish I knew what I know now back then. But that is where wisdom and grace comes from God. So guys, I'm gonna stop there and I'm gonna I've got I hope you enjoy the show. And please feel free. I wanna hear your thoughts. I want to hear your thoughts. Text me, 706-6911 43. Any questions? I would love to answer them live. Guys, I love you. This is the Food for Thought Faith Cast. My name is B Rod. God bless you, and praise God, because everything is amazing. Everything is amazing. Never forget first Peter. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Nothing else but him. I love you guys, be Rob. Enjoy the show.
SPEAKER_01:This is so powerful it gave me chills. Now let's talk about perhaps the most vital truth I discovered after years of studying success and failure. Every adversity carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit. If you truly believe that, you can never lose. You may bleed, you may fall, you may suffer, but you will never be broken. Because you'll know this is not the end, it is the test before elevation. Look back on your own life. The greatest lessons didn't come in comfort, they came in collapse. The greatest clarity didn't come when things were easy, it came when the storm hit and you had to decide whether to drown or rise. So I say to you, develop the habit of expecting the good in the bad. Train your mind to say, this pain is preparing me. This failure is redirecting me. This delay is protecting me. And what happens? You become unshakable, you become dangerous to defeat. Because life can't hurt a man who grows stronger every time he is hit. Now, let me reveal another core teaching from my life's work. You are never a victim of circumstance, you are only ever a victim of your response. Two men can face the same setback. One becomes bitter, the other becomes better. The difference? Mental attitude. When life slaps you across the face, you get to decide. Will I curse it or will I bless it as the teacher that it is? When someone betrays you, you get to decide. Will I become resentful or will I become wiser and stronger in boundaries? You cannot control what happens, but you always control what it becomes. This is the great secret of positive mental attitude. It doesn't remove difficulty, it redefines it. It doesn't stop the storm, it teaches you how to walk through it with purpose. Now let me warn you, there will be people who hate your mindset. They will mock your optimism. They will call you delusional, unrealistic, or naive. Ignore them. Most people are addicted to mediocrity. They've made a habit of hopelessness. They are threatened by anyone who dares to rise while they've made comfort with crawling. You must cut off mental infection at the source. Surround yourself only with those who speak life. Avoid those who feed your fear. Tell me who your enemies are, and I will tell you who you are becoming. But also tell me who your friends are and I will tell you the limits of your future. Environment is stronger than will. If you spend your time in darkness, don't expect your mind to shine. You must choose carefully what you allow to influence your attitude. Because what enters your ears, enters your spirit.
SPEAKER_07:Some of you must have come into agreement with that negative spirit. If that becomes the narrative that you confess over your life, that becomes the prophetic direction that your life will move in. That's why it's so careful what we confess over ourselves. But listen, if you come into agreement with this narrative, if you start to prophesy this word, if you start to speak these promises over your situation, you're gonna start to see movement, you're gonna start to see motion and alignment, you're gonna start to see things come together, you're gonna start to see things fall into place. Why? Because when this narrative becomes the prophetic direction that you move in, God's will, God's goodness, that becomes the path that you and I start to move in. If you're wondering why you're stuck in a pattern of brokenness today, it might be because you're prophesying the wrong narrative over your This is how most Christians think their faith works.
SPEAKER_02:Monday morning, I woke up, I prayed, I read my Bible, I went to work, I was a good Christian testimony. For the most part, I behaved. So if I die today, I'm gonna go to heaven. Tuesday, I didn't sleep so well the night before, but I didn't pray as much today. Had a little trouble understanding the word, and I think I thought a couple things I shouldn't have thought. If I were to die today, 50-50, maybe I make it, maybe I don't. Wednesday, I didn't set my alarm properly. So I had to rush out of the house without praying. Rush out of the house without reading the word. And I made a mistake, compromised a little. If I die today, I'm done. Do you realize that many Christians don't trust the cross, they trust the good timing of their good deeds? It is the assurance of salvation, not the guesswork of salvation.
SPEAKER_05:Everybody go read the book of Job. Just read the book of Job. He took everything from Job. He kept snatching everything from Job. And Job, like every Christian that, you know, everybody like, you know, I put so much good into the world. Why? So much bad comes to me. He's like, you know what? I ain't really been bad to nobody. I just want to talk to him. I want to ask him why. Why he doing this to me? God looked at him and said, Who you talking to? Why not you? This is the time for you to praise my name. This is the time for you to tell the other people through to Mr. Pain. I'm the one that's giving you the strength, fool. You a soldier. It don't matter how many scratches you got on your back. If he keeps waking you up every morning, if he keeps giving you the energy, nigga, you better strap on your motherfucking boots, nigga, and use whatever you're going through as motivation to reach the finish line. Why would you not reach the finish line and you done went through all you done went through?
SPEAKER_06:All sexual activity of every and any sort or kind outside of your marriage with your spouse is a sin against your God. Says that God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. You need to fear the Lord. You need to realize that if you have sexual sin that is unrepentant and you're not in the fight for purity, you are under divine judgment and you've picked a fight with God. And I know this is not this is not popular. I know that we live in a day when sexuality has just become pornographic and what used to be adult entertainment is now just entertainment. I know that we just celebrated an entire month where we had pride for things that are shameful, and we encourage people to do things that bring them under the divine judgment of a holy and righteous God. And I know that we will say that that is love. It is not love, it is lying, it is demonic, and it is evil.
SPEAKER_00:You're gonna die. Can I say that to you? Every single person within the hearing of my voice, I am deadly serious. You're gonna die a hundred years, all new people. And most people live their entire lives never thinking about the fact that they're gonna die, and they will come face to face with their maker and asking the question, what's gonna happen in that moment? The reason that you never think about that is in the Bible in the book of Genesis, the second lie that Satan ever told was this lie you shall not surely die. And that lie lodged itself into the human heart. And so we go throughout our lives careening toward a moment, watch this, where you will die and stand in front of your maker. And listen, only a fool goes through life unprepared for what's inevitable. Well, I prayed for a 24-year-old in our church who got put on hospice care this week. I prayed for a five-year-old in the lobby last night battling with life-threatening cancer. And some of you feel very invincible because of your physical health, your success in life, your financial prosperity. But listen to me, all it takes is one rogue cell. And you are months away from meeting your maker. So bad news. Now let me give you some good news. Good news. You can be prepared for that moment in such a way that that moment will be the doorway to the greatest glory you ever experience when you meet your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and spend your eternity with him. You can be prepared for that moment.
SPEAKER_03:I need to start getting uncomfortable for Jesus. I thought being a disciple of Jesus was just not doing wrong. I need to start bringing him up. Because I didn't like to talk. I just prayed to God over and over and over. It's not about me, it's not about me. Use me. A prank phone call. Midnight, the phone rang and I answered it, and nobody said anything. It was just like this. I thought, well, don't say anything. I went from hello, hello, hello, hello to, well, don't say anything because you're the perfect person for what I want to do. I'm gonna share something with you that I'm terrified of sharing. And I was the first person I shared Jesus with and went through the whole story. Something hit me in that moment. It convicted me. I just thought I'm not gonna be this way anymore. And I thought, I'm gonna start doing this for the Lord. I'm gonna let Him use me.
