The Food for Thought Faithcast with Be Rob
A message from fren and Brother in Christ Tom Stewart.
The world feels increasingly fractured and chaotic – headlines about violence dominate our news feeds while social media amplifies the worst of humanity. How should people of faith respond when tragedy strikes and hatred seems to be winning?
Tom Stewart, a minister with over 40 years of experience, offers a message of profound wisdom that cuts through the noise. Speaking in the aftermath of recent violence, he shares a perspective that balances our natural human reactions with spiritual discernment. Rather than responding with vengeance or despair, Stewart lays out a path forward that honors our emotions while elevating our spiritual calling.
What makes this message particularly powerful is its practical approach. Stewart doesn't just offer platitudes – he provides specific guidance for navigating troubled times: limiting news consumption, avoiding engagement with hateful commentary, and extending radical compassion even toward those who commit terrible acts. His perspective challenges us to view current events through a spiritual lens, suggesting that intensifying division may reflect spiritual warfare as Christ's return approaches.
The most transformative aspect of Stewart's message is the reminder that evil will never be conquered by more evil – only by the love of Christ. As division deepens and violence increases, believers are called not to match hatred with hatred, but to stand firm in faith, speak truth with love, and draw closer to God through prayer. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by current events or seeking spiritual clarity in confusing times, this message offers a refreshing alternative to outrage and fear. Listen, breathe deeply, and remember what matters most.

Speaker 2:Tom, hello, men of God. Hey, today is Saturday, september 13th, and I wanted to wait a little bit before I made this video. You probably know we've had quite an eventful last couple of weeks around the country and country and I wanted to say something in this video that I hope is positive and I hope helps you in some way. That's my goal Stay positive and stay helpful. That's my intention, that's my heart and I hope this video makes that happen. So let's dive into it. Yeah, quite an eventful last couple of weeks, obviously, with the shootings, the stabbing, just everything going on in our country, the hatred, the vitriol. But I waited to make this video because I wanted to let my emotions settle down a little bit. Last few days, right after the Charlie Clark shooting, his assassination, my videos, my sorry, my Feelings, my emotions have been pretty raw and it's not a good time to speak. It's not a good time to say something meaningful and kind of the old 72-hour rule, waiting until things settle down and gel. So I'm going to say what I need to say.
Speaker 2:Two trains of thought here First of all, from the natural and then from the spiritual. But the two have to work together and we have to have that working together of our natural, our physical thoughts, our actions, our emotions, and they have to be tied with and controlled by the spiritual realm. As believers, as men of God, we have a high calling and we are called to be leaders, to be the spiritual heads of our household. That's not dominance over anybody, spiritual heads of our household. That's not dominance over anybody. That is. It's a partnership with your spouse, your wife, and in that you need to pray for discernment and just leading of the Holy Spirit in everything you do in your families. But what I want to talk about today specifically was in the natural. Yeah, it's easy to get angry, it's easy to get frustrated with everything going on and you want to do something. In the flesh, we want to probably take a bad action and that's not helpful. That will not work. You will only suffer for that.
Speaker 2:Starting with Charlie Kirk's assassination, I believe that Charlie would be the first one to tell us men to not react violently, not do something that is going to tarnish what he worked for and what he spoke for, which was truth and love and honesty with individuals, all in the name of Jesus Christ and Christ's love for us, in that he died on the cross. He loved us that much and he wants truth and life for us. He wants life here on earth and he wants life with him after our death. So in the natural, the things that I've done that have helped me.
Speaker 2:Number one I don't watch the news very much at all. We know that the shooter has been captured and that he will be charged. We don't know what the outcome of that is. I pray for his soul. I pray for his soul. I pray for that young man's soul. He was radicalized by leftist ideology, he was indoctrinated and he, on his own choice, by his own choice, decided to make a very bad decision and commit a murder. Now he's going to pay for that and where he spends eternity is between him and God. So I do pray for his soul. I do pray that he does repent and confess, especially if he's headed for the death penalty. So pray for his soul first of all, but don't watch the news.
Speaker 2:The second aspect of the natural that I want to talk about is these people that are negatively commenting on Charlie Kirk's death and I'm going to stay on that for just a minute to death, and I'm going to stay on that for just a minute. These people are filled with hatred and they are taking a victory lap, so to speak. For them, that's what it is, but we know that they are only expressing the intolerance and the hatred of the left in doing that. Bottom line is, guys, that they're humans too, and if I could reach one of them for Christ, I would love to do that. But watching them say these horrible things about Charlie and his death only stirs bad emotions. So that's the other thing. Don't pay attention to that. Don't give it credibility by responding Let them go on, let them do what they're going to do. Let God deal with them in his way.
Speaker 2:In the flesh is this poor Ukrainian girl that was stabbed on this train in Charlotte. It was horrific. Obviously the man that did it was out of his mind. He was mentally ill. Why he was out on the streets we don't know. I know he was arrested like 14 times before he committed this crime and he had been released and nothing serious ever happened to him. He did a horrible, horrible thing, and to watch this poor girl bleed out and nobody around her would help is even more horrifying. I am a sheepdog and I know many of you out there are too. That means we're protectors. We would have defended her, we would have tried to save her. It's just unfortunate there was nobody on the train who would do that for that Poor girl.
Speaker 2:I pray for the mentally ill in our country. I pray this doesn't get worse. I pray that, in light of Charlie's shooting and the stabbing there was a school shooting again, that we know that that evil will not be conquered by evil. It will only be conquered by the love of Christ. So, man, I just urge you and I plead with you not to react in the negative, not to give this stuff credibility. Don't do something that would tarnish the word of God, your reputation as a man of God or anything that people of God have worked so hard for.
Speaker 2:So the other aspect I want to talk about is in the spiritual covering all these things and why I think these people are doing this and why the outrage. And why I think these people are doing this and why the outrage? First and foremost, I believe that every president that sits in that White House is elected and I believe that God allows those individuals to be elected to sit in that seat. It's the most powerful seat in the world. It has global influence. We haven't agreed with every president that sat in that seat.
Speaker 2:Some were in there that I didn't vote for, some were in there that I did vote for, but the bottom line is, if that person is in the White House as president, that we are to respect that position and pray for that individual, given that we know that the left absolutely hates President Trump, we know that they are unhinged. In many cases that they have spoken out, they have encouraged violence against right-wing ideology, right-wing people, against President himself, president Trump himself, and we know we disagree with that. That said, there are many people in this country that are being fueled by those comments and that, I believe, will only get worse. What are we to do, though? Those individuals that are committing these crimes are sick. The people who push radical ideology, left ideology, and we know what all of that is.
Speaker 2:I'm not going to go down the list. We believe I believe I can't speak for everybody else. I believe that they are literally being puppeteered by Satan and his demons, and it all goes to this and I know you've heard this before and forgive me for preaching to the choir Jesus is coming back soon. I believe that with all my heart. I believe Satan knows he's coming back soon, and I believe that in these last days, satan is going to fight harder and harder to take as many people to hell that he can, and I, for one, am going to stand my ground as a man of God, as a believer, and I'm not going to give in to the things that could carry me to hell.
Speaker 2:I'm going to stand my ground as a believer, as a man of God. I'm going to speak the word when I'm able to speak it, to whatever circumstances, I can speak it. I'm going to speak the gospel. I'm going to share Christ. I'm going to try to be everything that God wants me to be. As a man of God, I pray that you strive to do the same. So, in conclusion, guys, take a deep breath, step back from the news, step back from social media. If you have to Pray, pray and pray some more. Get closer to God in these days than ever before. Pray with your spouse, pray with your children, pray with your grandchildren. Be strong, believe in Christ and stand firm. I love you, guys. Take care Till next time.
