The Food for Thought Faithcast with Be Rob

Ep. 32-Old Testament Prophecies, New Faith Journey

Be Rob Season 2 Episode 32

What happens when ancient prophecies collide with divine fulfillment? Seven hundred years before Jesus walked the earth, the prophet Isaiah described with stunning accuracy a suffering servant who would bear the weight of humanity's transgressions. "He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."

This episode takes you deep into Isaiah 53, revealing how Jesus Christ fulfilled not just these words, but hundreds of specific prophecies recorded centuries before His birth. From His Davidic lineage and virgin birth in Bethlehem to His betrayal, torture, and resurrection—every detail unfolds with mathematical precision that defies coincidence. We explore how Jesus matches every aspect of Isaiah's suffering servant, whose undeserved punishment became the catalyst for our healing and redemption.

Most believers readily embrace Jesus as Savior but often hesitate to fully receive Him as Healer. Yet Scripture makes it abundantly clear that when Christ rescued us from darkness, healing was part of the package—complete healing that addresses our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. The wounds He suffered weren't just about salvation; they were about your complete restoration.

As we reflect on Christ's sacrifice, consider what it means that hundreds of prophecies found their fulfillment in one extraordinary life. This convergence of prediction and reality not only validates our faith but equips us to share it confidently. Whether you're a longtime believer or just discovering who Jesus is, He invites you today: come, be healed, be made whole. The power that fulfilled ancient prophecies is the same power available to transform your life right now.

Take the challenge: Read Isaiah 53 with someone else this week, and discover together the remarkable portrait of a Savior who knew exactly what He was doing when He took your place on the cross.

This Sunday the clip you heard earlier was Tuesday, my first day on the job. Pretty amazing, pretty amazing, pretty amazing. We're going to do a Bible study now, a devotional from the Bible app His pain, our gain. So listen to this clip real quick and then I'll be back in a second.

Speaker 2:

He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed. This verse paints a picture of the pain and the suffering Jesus endured for you and for me, not just as our Savior alone, but also as our healer. Now most of us are confident and comfortable viewing Jesus as our savior, but we hesitate receiving and embracing him as our healer.

Speaker 2:

This verse makes it abundantly clear that when God rescued us from the stronghold of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his son, healing was part of the package. And the healing that he provides is more than physical, it's more than mental, it's more than emotional, spiritual, but most of all, it's complete. And I'm here today to remind you like the Psalmist in Psalm 103, not to forget a single one of the benefits Jesus died for you and for me to enjoy. So, whether you have known Jesus for years or you're just now discovering who he is, he invites you to come, be healed and be made whole. Wherever you are in the world or whatever you're walking through today world or whatever you're walking through today, remember this Jesus sees you, he suffered for you and his healing power is available to you right now.

Speaker 1:

Healing power is available to you right now. Did you hear what he said? Isaiah 53 is a stunning chapter in the Bible, in what is now commonly referred to as the Old Testament. Approximately 700 years before Jesus walked the earth, isaiah prophesied about a suffering servant who would also somehow, in some way, be exalted, a coming savior, a future redeemer, the long awaited Messiah whose death would ultimately bring life. A portion of Isaiah 53 says this. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. That's Isaiah 53, 5. That's the new invitational version. So, guys, who is the man that would be pierced, crushed and wounded because of someone else's sins, whose undeserved punishment would be the catalyst for healing, whose life would be given as an offering so that others may live? That would be Jesus, jesus the Christ. That would be Jesus, jesus, the Christ. Jesus not only fits the description of the suffering servant who paid the ultimate price to buy his people back, redeem them and set them free. He also fits the description of many other inspired predictions about the promised deliverer of the Jewish nation. The promised deliverer of the Jewish nation.

Speaker 1:

The Messiah was prophesied to come from the lineage of David Isaiah 9, 7, and be born of a virgin Isaiah 7, 14, in Bethlehem, and that's in Micah 5, 2. He would do astonishing miracles. That's Isaiah 35, 5.2. He would do astonishing miracles. That's Isaiah 35, 5, and 6. You can find all that stuff right there. Though innocent, he was betrayed by a close friend, and that's in Psalms. Beaten and spit on. That's in Isaiah, pierced in the hands and the feet that's in Psalms as well and ultimately killed. That's in Daniel, daniel 9, 26. But because he would intercede for rebels Isaiah 53, 12. Many would be counted as righteous. That's in Isaiah 53, 12,. Many would be counted as righteous. That's an Isaiah 53, 11,. Just as a soldier would give his life for his fellow countrymen.

Speaker 1:

Jesus, jesus, jesus, sorry guys gave his life for the world. And Today, consider the consequences of Jesus' decision. Consider the abundant life you have access to because Jesus took on your suffering and your shame. Reflect on Jesus' crucifixion today. That's good stuff right there. And all that was prophesied 700 years before Jesus. He paid the ultimate price for our freedom. This should have been last week's Memorial day. This should have been Monday's podcast. Oh well, this is God's time. He paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Now we get to share the greatest story on earth as we eagerly wait for our Jesus to return, for our Jesus to return. Man, hundreds of prophecies were fulfilled in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus huh. This should give us great confidence as we tell each other or tell others about him, as we tell each other or tell others about him.

Speaker 1:

The challenge is invite a friend or family member to read the remarkable chapter of Isaiah 53 with you. Then take turns sharing what you learned. I think me and the wife will do that. Isaiah 53, 5. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on him, nobody else. Him, and by his wounds we are healed. That's Isaiah 53.5.

Speaker 1:

Let's go to the word. Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Lord, heavenly Father, thank you, lord. Just thank you for saving us. Lord, thank you for your grace, thank you for your mercy. We did not deserve any of that, but we definitely appreciate it. I definitely appreciate it.

Speaker 1:

Lord, I'm so grateful.

Speaker 1:

I'm so grateful.

Speaker 1:

Lord, thank you for becoming Jesus. Thank you for becoming God with us. Lord, thank you for taking the brokenness of the world, this world, this evil world, taking that weight off our shoulders. Taking that weight off our shoulders. It's because of your sacrifice, your selfless sacrifice, that I can experience eternal life with you, lord. Today I receive your gift of salvation, lord, and invite you to heal me. Lord, today I pray our listeners do the same. Lord, I want to spend the rest of my life, the rest of my days, trying to be more and more like you. Lord, we thank you for everything you do. We thank you, lord. I pray for my family, my Mincy family, uncle Mac. He's up there with you and I know he's making you laugh, lord. We thank you on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Lord, it's in Jesus' holy heavenly name. Amen, amen.

Speaker 1:

In the political aspect, trump tweeted out or truthed out a picture of himself yesterday holding up two fingers and at the bottom it says there is no Joe Biden executed in 2020. Biden clone, doubles, robotic, engineered, soulless, mindless entities are what you see. Democrats don't know the difference. Whoo. And then if you go research, find a grave calm, it's right there, november no, that's his birthday. Death was january 17, 2020, guantanamo bay. Whoo. He was buried in arlington national cemetery and his memorial id is 267-327-344. Man. Been trying to tell y'all, but y'all thought I was crazy. But nothing can stop what is coming. And George News tweeted out Wifehouse briefing on Monday is going to be wild. That was today, june 1st, so hopefully tomorrow is going to be wild in a good way. Crazy, crazy. Just be praying, be holding close to God, get right with Jesus. All I'm going to tell you.
